December 2006

Dear Joy Partners,

I was just reflecting on our past year of ministry. This past year has been a great year for Joy Partners and for me personally. I could not have done it without the faithful prayers and generous support from all of you, my partners in Christ. I have many things to be thankful.

Back: Frank, Becky, Michael Barrera, Peter, Jim
Front: Jaclyn Barrera, Florence, Brandi Lin, Danni Lin

First, I would like to thank God for my family! Here's what they have been up to lately. As you can see from the photos, both Jim and Becky have teenage children now so keep them in your prayers! Jim is in his sixth year of teaching various computer classes at a local high school. Jim's two daughters, Danni and Brandi, attend the Orange County High School of the Arts. They are quite talented in the visual arts and enjoy drawing and painting. Frank and Becky have worked in their same jobs for over 20 years now. Frank works as a senior accountant and Becky teaches 3rd grade at a private Christian school. Becky's son, Michael, is very talented in music and he enjoys playing in the drum line at school. Jaclyn is in Jr. High and continues to excel in playing sports. One of her favorite sports is playing volleyball. Peter is doing well at Disney as a planning manager. Of course, he is still into growing orchids and even gives seminars at various orchid clubs and meetings. Finally, our 'adopted' daughter Lynn is in Singapore teaching business at a college.

I also thank God for the success of Joy Partners Ministries. Below are just some highlights of this past year.

  • I've been to China twice to hold various training sessions in different parts of the country.
  • Through Joy Partners, quite a few orphans and poor children have been blessed through direct financial help.
  • We were able to distribute music CDs and MP3s containing worship songs, children songs, and more. Joining in partnership with Guidelines International, we were able to distribute many copies of the family series DVDs that gave Biblical advice for the family.
  • We helped several needy preachers in China.
  • I had the opportunity to travel to North Carolina for several evangelistic meetings.

Prayer Requests for 2007

  • In April, I will be going to China for music keyboard training and family seminars.
  • In May, I'll be attending FEBC's board meeting and retreat in Texas.
  • In August, I'll be visiting China with my oldest son, Jim, and his daughters.
  • In September and October, I'll be traveling with the director of Singpetra Mission, Henry Chong, to Texas, North and South Carolina, and the East coast for Gospel song/evangelical meetings.
  • In November, Joy Partners will present a special Thanksgiving concert.

As you can see, I'll be very busy next year and I'll definitely need your prayers and support. Please use the enclosed prayer card to pray for me. One more thing, up until October 2006, we are short about $5500 in financial support for the ministry. Next year, we hope to double our budget so that we can serve even more. If the Lord leads you, please make a special Christmas gift to Joy Partners Ministries (tax deductible).

May you have a blessed Christmas and a happy new year!

Your Joy Partner,

 Florence Lin
